Fr\u00e5n att ha varit&nbsp;<strong>k\u00f6pm\u00e4n<\/strong>&nbsp;och&nbsp;<strong>bankirer<\/strong>&nbsp;lyckades familjen ta makten under ren\u00e4ssansen och regerade Florens f\u00f6rst och senare hela&nbsp;Toscana under tre \u00e5rhundraden. Som&nbsp;<strong>mecenater<\/strong>&nbsp;gynnade dynastin b\u00e5de konstn\u00e4rer och vetenskapsm\u00e4n. Det pr\u00e4glar fortfarande dagens Florens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e5 den h\u00e4r turen b\u00f6rjar vi med en snabb titt utifr\u00e5n p\u00e5 familjens f\u00f6rsta palats,&nbsp;<strong>Palazzo Medici-Riccardi<\/strong>, som byggdes p\u00e5 1440-talet och senare s\u00e5ldes till Riccardi-familjen p\u00e5 1600-talet. Inte ens <strong>Michelangelo<\/strong> lyckades med att fullborda sitt projekt n\u00e4r han av p\u00e5ven<strong> Leone X<\/strong> fick i uppdrag att rita en ny fasad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Piazza Signoria och Palazzo Vecchio \u00e4r Florens&nbsp;politiska hj\u00e4rta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi forts\u00e4tter till&nbsp;<strong>Piazza della Signoria<\/strong>&nbsp;d\u00e4r statyerna \u00e4r ett praktexempel p\u00e5 dynastins makt. H\u00e4r finner vi bl.a ett antal mytologiska gestalter som <strong>Perseus<\/strong>, <strong>Herkules<\/strong> och <strong>Neptunus<\/strong>. Medici-familjen \u00e4lskade att j\u00e4mf\u00f6ra sig med de romerska gudarna och d\u00e5 framf\u00f6rallt Herkules.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi bes\u00f6ker r\u00e5dhuset&nbsp;<strong>Palazzo Vecchio&nbsp;<\/strong>dit familjen flyttade p\u00e5 1500-talet och varifr\u00e5n storhertigarna&nbsp;regerade Toscana.&nbsp;I Florens r\u00e5dhus, d\u00e4r flera scener till filmen&nbsp;<strong>&#8221;Inferno&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;spelades in och d\u00e4r stadens borgm\u00e4stare \u00e4n idag arbetar, ser vi bl.a&nbsp; den enorma <strong>Salone del 500 <\/strong>med <strong>Michelangelos<\/strong> staty <strong>Vittoria<\/strong> (Seger)<strong>, <\/strong>den lilla studion <strong>lo Studiolo&nbsp;<\/strong>och de offentliga och privata rummen som dekorerades f\u00f6r Cosimo I, samt de intressanta&nbsp;<strong>kartorna &nbsp;<\/strong>i&nbsp;<strong>La Guardaroba<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kartorna ritades bara 60 \u00e5r efter Columbus f\u00f6rsta resa till Amerika 1492. Det var Cosimo I som best\u00e4mde sig f\u00f6r att flytta till Palazzo Vecchio med sin familj i mitten p\u00e5 1500-talet. Denna medeltida byggnad fr\u00e5n 1299, som n\u00e4stan ser ut som ett fort, var redan d\u00e5 och \u00e4r \u00e4n idag Florens politiska centrum. Med hj\u00e4lp av sin favoritarkitekt, Giorgio Vasari, gjorde Cosimo I om interi\u00f6ren. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vasari lade \u00e4ven till den <strong>ber\u00f6mda korridoren<\/strong> som l\u00f6per fr\u00e5n Palazzo Vecchio till Palazzo Pitti.
